The Shenandoah Valley Multidisciplinary Conference, hosted by the Collins Center of Harrisonburg, VA, provides training opportunities for professionals who respond to sexual assault victims.  The goal is to strengthen the coordinated community response to sexual assault.  Featured speakers are national and local trainers who are experts on the topics of juvenile and female offenders, technology facilitated crimes against children, sexual assault investigations, expert witness testimony, and vicarious trauma.

CONFERENCE AGENDA

The conference agenda and workshop descriptions are available for download here. Speakers include Joddie Walker, Joanne Archambault, Claudia Bayliff, Julie Brand, Sue Rotolo, Dr. Robin Foster, and Roger Canaff and Sasha Rutizer of the National District Attorneys Association.
For scheduling purposes, you will be asked to indicate your FIRST choice of workshop for each breakout session during registration. This information is for assigning meeting space only and does not guarantee admission. Workshop admittance is on a first come, first serve basis.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Regular cost of attendance is $175. Registrants may also attend individual days for $75 per day. Registration fees include conference materials, light breakfast and refreshments, lunch, afternoon breaks, and a certificate of attendance.
A regional registration rate of $125 is available for professionals currently working in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, Staunton, Waynesboro, Augusta County, Highland County, Page County, Shenandoah County, and Greene County. Regional registrants may also attend individual days for $50 per day.
Pre-registration is required for each attendee. Registration deadline is January 15, 2014. Mail-in registrations are available for download on the conference webpage and must be post-marked by this date. Registrations made after the deadline will incur an additional $25 late fee per day of attendance.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

Applications for Continuing Education Units (CEU), Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits, and Partial In-service Course (PIC-3) credits have been made to the National Board for Certified Counselors, the Virginia State Bar, and the Department of Criminal Justice Services Division of Law Enforcement.
Information about specific credit hours will be made available as soon as possible on the conference website: www.thecollinscenter.org.
Enrollment and payment for these credits must be made with conference registration. The cost has not been included in the conference registration fees. The cost of CEU and CLE credits is $25 per person. PIC-3 credits may be obtained for no additional charge.

LODGING

Lodging reservations are not included in the cost of attendance. Rooms are available on site at Holiday Inn Harrisonburg at a rate of $75.99 per night. Rooms will be held in a block until February 10, 2014. After this date, rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis.
