CASA + Prevention + Treatment
Keeping with its history and mission of serving victims of sexual assault, all charitable
contributions to the Collins Center support victims of sexual violence right here in
our community.
In Virginia, one in every four women and one in every eight men are victims of
sexual violence, and a majority of these assaults occur before the victim is 18. Right
here in the Shenandoah Valley the plight for victims is equally dire. In 2002 the
Department of Social Services found that Harrisonburg had the highest rate per
capita of child abuse than anywhere else in the Commonwealth.
These victims and survivors face a long road to healing. Please help us ensure
they do not travel that road alone.

Each year the Collins Center holds a Black Tie Auction and Gala where corporate
sponsors can showcase items in the auction, receive recognition in the program for
the evening, and receive free tickets to the event. Other corporate giving

| with questions and issues surrounding sexual assault. | ||
| Ensure that victims and survivors receive completely confidential counseling | |
| services from a trained therapist. | ||
| Allow a victim advocate to accompany victims through the often difficult and | |
| potentially re-traumatizing medical and court processes associated with this crime. | ||
| Sponsor prevention programming and public awareness campaigns | |
| throughout our community that aim to put an end to sexual violence by preventing it from ever happening. |
